Tell Me About Yourself

This is one of the most common ways that many interviews begin, and it’s an important question to have prepared for in advance. You’d like to keep this answer conversational and paint a picture of your career pathway, how you got your start in life, what formal credentials you might have, and any career highlights along the way. It is also an opportunity to share some personal information, such as work you might do on a volunteer basis in the community or interest in arts, sports, or other hobbies which you think might be relevant to the employee. It is not a hard-core pitch for the job, and it’s important to get the timing right and speak for approximately 2-3 minutes. Pre-planning is crucial to make this answer stand out from the crowd.
